Eco-School update
Our school is working towards achieving an Eco-Schools Green Flag. We elected an Eco-committee back in September and have chosen three topics to work on this academic year.
Below are some quotes and photos from our Eco-Committee members:
Izayah:
‘We chose energy as our Eco topic. We have encouraged all children and staff to switch off lights and shut doors. We also did an assembly about it too. To help get our message across, we made stickers, green, yellow and red and stuck them by the light switches. Green stickers meant that everyone can turn the lights off. Yellow stickers, only teachers can turn the lights off. Red stickers, no-one can turn the lights off. So far it’s been really successful.’
Henry:
‘We made a bug hotel so that bugs can come and pollinate the plants. We hope that the bug hotel will attract more bugs to our school grounds.’
Bella:
‘We decided to grow our own plants, which were carrots and potatoes. When they are fully grown, we will give them to the Broughton Community Fridge.’
